5 This vacuum cleaner does neither - vacuum or clean. I have had this one about 1 year - the suction is lousy now and I have cleaned filters and everything on it I can think of. It's very heavy, hard to maneuver (I'm 6ft 2in)and the attachments fall off constantly. I have not been able to find any replacement filters in any local store - no bag system, which was what I bought it for, but the filters are impossible to deal with. Such a bad choice. I have better cleaning with my really old Dirt Devil canister! Good thing I kept it. Also, it's one of the noisiest vacuums I have ever had. I'm sorry I couldn't try it first. I bought from Target.

0 In the trouble shooting area at the Eureka site, this vacuum had the following problem (it may be in your situation that the tools switch is on and main suction is shut off?): ------ 7. The main vacuum suction is fine, but the onboard tools don't draw in air or debris. Many models have a switch that must be used to change the suction from the main vacuum to the hose attachment. Make sure this switch is set correctly. Check the hose to make sure that a foreign object hasn't blocked the airflow. As long as the setting is correct and the air passage is clear you should have good suction power. ---- The user guide for 2991AVZ is available on the Eureka website. Just go to the link below and enter your this model number to view the user guide. It took a while for the user guide to pop up....
