how do you clean the filter assembly - a discontinued foam cone was replaced by this thing in the picture

0 thanks for the manual - it says to wash it with water detergent brush whatever - I thought one could take it apart, but the cheap one I got doesn't come apart - to replace the filter, I guess I would have to buy the entire assembly
