Sorrry, I'm not quite clear on how this works. We already own a manual and we tried to follow the instruction. "Lift wick and retainers from the base allowing water to drain. Rinse wick under fresh water only etc". When we lifted the retainer it was forced open causing the wick to collapse. HELP
