Humidifier unit is not operating. Displays the "F"...

Humidifier unit is not operating. Displays the "F" for fan speed but "F" is not flashing as it should per manual and cannot change the "F" to F1, F2, etc. to reflect any speeds. Any ideas? Thanks.
