Question About Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner Z3040 Series

Had no problems with hoover until today when I caught a shoe lace and sucked into hoover (as far as could go still attached to shoe) now my brush wont work and can only hoover using the nossel HELP have I blwn it up??? getting no suction at bottom of hoover only thru nossel hose.
