I'm trying to get our Electrolux prolux upright running for use in our downstairs finished basement. It has been in the cellar for several years now and although the motor runs fine, the brush roller won't turn and I'm not sure how to remove the bottom plate to see what's going on. I did remove the screws, but the bottom plate did not seem to come off too easily so I put the screws back in.

4 did you try the reset switch. There is two motors in the prolux. vacuum and roller or beater. The beater has a circuit breaker when you extend the vacuum you will see a red button. with the vacuum off reset this switch.

0 Bingo! Thanks Empty 512. The cord was covering the reset button that I had forgotten about. Works fine now. Thanks again. hegbert@qwest.net

0 my reset button is not working. I locked it up when I vacuumed up a sock. hit the reset on the beater and it worked for another 45 seconds or so then stopped. Can't get it going again.
