0 If it's at all like mine, when you lift the handle to the upright position you just step on the bottom switch on the right hand side and lean the top handle backwards and it should take off! I hope this is of some value to you.

The previous responder is correct.

The Model 1732 triple brush shampooer-scrubber was manufactured by Electrolux Corporation from circa 1992-93.  The company is now called Aerus LLC and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas with store locations throughout the USA and Canada.  Aerus still manufactures an updated version of your cleaner--the main difference being that it doesn't have a cord winder.  To obtain a copy of that manual go to aerusvacuums.com, click on the Support tab, then select the Download Manuals hyperlink, choose Lux Floor Pro from the Current Models menu, and click Download.  Regards.
