0 I have had my cleaner for aprox. 10 years and have loved it. My problem now is that it doesn't pick as it should. I have cleaned the filter, empyied the bag but am wondering if I am doing something else woron. I don't know if the "brush bar/off-on" may have something to do with my prob. thanks Maria

0 There is a button just above the power switch at the front of the handle, pressit to release the handle and pull the handle upwards. The entire metal tube comes out, it will lock at the bottom, press the small button to release it and pull the metal tube out completetly. Then attach the plastic collar on the hose to the other end of the handle after moving the guard forward. The tools fit on the metal end. I hope this helps.

0 If the cleaner stops unexpectedly during use it may be because the motor is overheated. Dysons have a thermostat which cuts the power if there is not a free flow of air cooling the motor. This is usually caused by a blockage, which can be easily cleared on the DC07 by removing the access points on the bends. One is on the right side towards the back and the other is underneath the flexible hose. Once the blockage is cleared the cleaner will work again after about thirty minutes.

0 I rescued my DC07 from a skip. There was a carrier bag hanging out of the bottom of it so I knew it was only blocked. It took me about an hour to clear all the dried mud, twigs, wire, pet hairs and the carrier bag out of it and it has worked perfectly ever since. Some people seem to expect too much of these machines.

0 If the suction on your DC07 doesn't seem as powerful as it used to be try cleaning the sponge filter and it's holder. The filter is located at the bottom left of the body, it just pulls out with a push button clip. wash both the filter sponge and it's holder in clear running water until the water runs clean, then leave to dry completely before refitting. Also when you empty the dirt holder, remove the outer shroud by releasing the clip at the front, then holding the handle firmly, slap the cyclone assembly firmly with the palm of your hand, don't use anything harder. You will be surprised at the amount of compacted dust that falls out. Also clear any debris from the grill around the top. I was surprised how much more powerful my DC07 was after doing this.
