found hot joint on red wire of start cap. on compr...

found hot joint on red wire of start cap. on compressor capacitor has a add on resistor ? test cap ..faulty and no continuity resistance in the add on part.a/c M/N is B3200.motor start cap 42-53uf .is this correct and does it require the add on part?
