Question About Delta Plumbing Product 144913
iron pipe/tub spout pull up diverter...

The manual does not say whether or not to remove the gasket inside spout so it will fit on the pipe (that would be the only way it would fit). Nor does it say how long the pipe should be coming out of the wall. Any help is greatly appreciated! tub/shower model #144913.
