I have a Creda 79141C heater and when I went to bed last night I turned the input dial up to its highest but was awoken in the night by my son coughing and a strong burning smell in the air coming from the heater. It was extremely hot.

0 could the heater be obstructed in anyway , by dust or foreign object ?

0 No it isnt. It worked fine beforehand, just seemed to happen once I highered the input

0 perhaps theres a loose wire / connection which would cause heat and melting of wire or cable insulation ? removing cover (with power off ) may let you see if there's any loose connection or melting wire .
