Question About Craftsman Garage Door Opener 41a5021-2c
will not open...

My garage door opener will not go in the open position on the track when I push the button for it to open. It tries to go farther closed and bind s the garage door and then goes back about 6 inches to the original position. It's really strange.I cannot get it to open the garage door,just keeps trying to close the door when it's already closed

5 I had exact same problem. With the garage down, loosen the chain and take it off the sprocket. Run the opener through a full cycle until it stops in the down position. Make sure you watch carefully so you know it is down and not up! Reconnect chain to sprocket and tighten. Run a cycle. You may have to do minor up/down adjustment, but the main problem should be solved.
