motor runs but chain is not moving...

WHEN THE BUTTON IS PUSHED TO POEN OR CLOSE THE GARAGE DOOR, THE MOTOR RUNS BUT THE CHAIN WILL NOT MOVE. WHAT WOULD AUSE THIS?
