it blows cold air at times and to get it to heat I turn the thermostat off and the main furnace switch off then turn the furnace back on then the thermostat back on and the furnace will run fine how do I fix it

0 Your furnace is locking out on something. There is a way to retrieve the lock out code. You take the furnace door/panel off of the section that has the blower fan and you should see a circuit board, on the circuit board is an LED light, there is also an error button near the LED, the furnace must be satisfied at the thermostat, (no call for heat). The furnace has a service switch (push button) near the top of the panel frame you removed, depress the switch with out a heat call and then press the error button once, now count the flashes and note the color of the LED. The number of colored flashes indicate certain lock out codes that may help pin point your problem
