How bright does the color screen suppose to be on ...

How bright does the color screen suppose to be on the new evolution controls. Mine just is not very bright & ive gone thru all setting increasing backlight and contrast. But it's still dim and I swear I have seen them in person at other houses brighter. Am I missing something?
