Condensate tray froze...

Furnance is installed in an attic. Water in condensate tray froze and cracked the tray. When the tray ice melted water damaged ceiling and walls below. Questions: Can this model (condensing) furnance be installed in the ceiling where temperatures go down below 10F. If so, what special procedures/methods are required to prevent this problem.
