M# 517EN024005 SN# 5287A11109 Bryant Heat pump Air conditioner units, I am not sure what it is, I am a second owner of this house and I have no owners manual. Unit inside the house has a Hartell Safety Switch and unit is shutting down when condensate try is full of water. I need to know why this is happening and what can be done to correct it so that the thermostat controls the unit. I request a manual on this unit also. I can provide pictures later if needed.

0 when the primary drain line cloggs the over flow drain takes the water out but you have a hartell overflow safety switch which is mounted in the overflow . this mechanism turns the compressor off so you dont have a flood of condensation water . to remedy this situation you have to eliminated the clogg in the primary drain line either by blowing air backthrough the line from where it ends or by blowing air throught the line where it begins at the unit. this should take care of the problem and let the thermostat take over again
