5 First, see if it is threaded correctly. Look at the website called "sewusa" for your model number, as they give free threading diagrams. If it is threaded properly, then there are several other possibilities. Make sure the needle is in the right direction also. Is your thread old? If so, it might break easily. Do you know how to adjust the tension on the machine properly? Try tightening or loosening it a bit to see what happens. Another cause is that sometimes a little jagged edge or piece of metal exists around the hole the needle goes down into. You can take the plate off and rub your finger around the hole to see if you can detect something rough. If so, sand it with an emery board (like a nail file)
