5 This process is best performed at night so you can see the pilot light in action. If you do it in the day time remove the cover to make it easier to see the pilot light (if it isn't windy) - there are screw knobs at the side bottom rear . Important...*ensure all hot water taps are off*  1) press and hold pilot button (extreme left button)  2) press spark button up to 10 times quickly (extreme right button) while holding in pilot button from step 1 . Note the manual is wrongly translated from Dutch here ( if you've checked the manual from Bosch site) - it says to press and hold spark button for 10 sec. Each time you press creates a spark but holding it down for 10 seconds does nothing useful - you are more likely to get it to light if you press it multiple times quickly. 3) with the pilot button still held in, observe the pilot light through the window. if there is no pilot light now, you need a plumber to take a look at it. It can be hard to see in the daytime. 4) if you see the pilot light above, very quickly *completely* remove your finger from the pilot button while at the same time pressing in the flame button (second from left - this button will not work until you completely remove your finger form the pilot button so timing is important) - the pilot light should stay lit.  5) if it goes out or your timing is off, repeat these 4 steps until it lights.
