I have a Slant Fin oil burner. It's about 5 years old. I could not get it to run even after bleeding it several times, I hooked up a fuel can directly and it still would not run, so the next day I went and bought a new pump, filter and nozzle. When I start it it runs for about a minute or two then shuts down. To get it started I have to bleed it again, then it runs for another minute or two. The only thing I havn't changed is the INTERUPTED IGNITION OIL PRIMARY CONTROL R7184B 1032. Do you think this should solve the problem?

5 Normal reset time for the Beckett primary is around 15 seconds, but continual reset attempts will lock out even this mode. If you hold the reset button down for an additional 60 seconds, it should reset from the extra lockout, and fire back up. Be warned, though, there will be some additional rumbling and possibly some smoke as the excess oil burns off.
