Aprilaire 1700, works when it is in test mode, but otherwise does not dehumidify. Unit is being used for an indoor pool room, the unit will not run ( except in test mode) and the humidity is easily 80-90%. A second 1700 is used as our whole house system and that one is now exhibiting the same problem. We have an insulated concrete form house and currently the humidity is at 70% - not good.

0 If the dehumidifier doesn’t come on at the end of every cycle period to sample the air, the humidity or temperature sensor on the control board has failed and the board will need to be replaced. Corrosion on the control board from the pool chemicals is the most likely reason it failed. This is one of the reasons why the Aprilaire dehumidifiers are not recommended for pool applications.
