Recently in the past three days my hot water heater keeps shutting off. I have followed the necessary procedures in turning the pilot on and that has worked for a short time. The water I have noticed after 2-3hrs is not as hot as it use to be. My father who is familar with the AO Smith product line stated to me that he had a very simiilar issue and my problem might be due to dust in the screens. If so where are these screens? How do you remove them and is this common? My water heater was installed less than 11 months ago. If someone will be so nice to contact me my tel # is 848 459-3422.

0 same problem on second heater in 3 years. they sent me a pdf. but its a known defect with ceramic disk models and must be cleaned inside you can't get to. this what they show shove the brush all the way to back in circular motion. you can't get to other side without disassembly.
