thermostat says"check filter' We have already changed filter inside & washed outside unit. How do we get that message off the thermostat

0 the RESET button ,take cover off thermostate and look for a SILVER circle(left side) to PUSH in/once. it doesn't look like a typical reset. this should clear the mssg off .if not there's a sensor inside your furnace(for filters)that could/b defective,usually goes bad if filter/change is neglected.
