I'm trying to program a new MVP garage door opener...

I'm trying to program a new MVP garage door opener transmitter and the program button in the wall unit does not work. When I push it the work light turns on but not the red LED light. What now?

1 I have the manuel it does not help as the red LED light does NOT GO ON
