Try the instruction manual of the Honeywell L4064, to my opinion the same connections as the 169h. LHS: connections to switch the blower fan, RHS: limit switch to shut off the burner when temp. reached the limet, to oil burner or gas valve. Temp. setting tabs: (look countre wise) first: fan off, second: fan on, tirth: limit (shut off).

I changed batteries and now the display is flashing with all characters fo the display on. For example all numbers are 8888, word heat, cool, battery, hold are lit, days of week are lit etc. Initially, i was able to adjust temp down to get ac to kick on, but could never determine the actual setting because of the display issue. now, it seems i can no longer adjust temp etc

What happens if the batteries in the thermostat fail while we are out of the house for an extended (four-month) period? Does the thermostat keep the furnace at the "Hold" temp or does the furnace quit functioning?
