SAFETY FIRST
• The Xenon lamp for Big Ed
TM
gets very hot during
operation. DO NOT TOUCH the lamp when in use.
When the lamp must be replaced, wait at least five minutes
after extinguishing the flashlight before touching the lamp.
• Never mix old and new batteries. Never mix brands of
batteries. If the flashlight is not to be used for an extended
period of time, remove the batteries to avoid possible
leakage and corrosion.
• Do not shine the flashlight directly into any person’s eyes
as this may result in injury.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
Note: The battery tray ejects rapidly from
the flashlight base and may fall to the
ground if the user does not
position a hand underneath the tray.
1. Hold the flashlight in one hand and place
another under the base.
2. Push the battery tray into the flashlight and
simultaneously press the small
black button located in the center of the
clip hole, behind the lens. Release the tray.
3. Pull the tray
out of the
flashlight and
replace the
batteries in
the order-
shown by
the decals.
4. To replace, push the tray back into the flashlight with the
batteries facing the lens side until an audible “click” is heard.
LAMP REPLACEMENT
1. Unscrew the lens assembly.
2. Remove the reflector.
3. Remove the burned out lamp.
4. Insert a new lamp into the socket.
5. Place the reflector over the lamp glass and onto the flange.
6. Replace the lens assembly.

¡LA SEGURIDAD ANTE TODO!
• La bombilla de xenón de Big Ed se pone sumamente cali-
ente durante su operación. NO TOQUE la bombilla cuando
la esté usando. Cuando haya que reemplazar la bombilla,
antes de tocarla, espere por lo menos cinco minutos
después de apagar la linterna.
• Nunca mezcle pilas viejas con pilas nuevas. Nunca
mezcle pilas de marcas diferentes. Si no se piensa
utilizar la linterna durante algún tiempo, quite las
pilas para impedir cualquier fuga o corrosión.
• No apunte la linterna directamente en los ojos de una
persona ya que ello podría resultar en lesiones.
REEMPLAZO DE LAS PILAS
Nota: la bandeja de pilas sale rápidamente
de la base de la interna y podría caer al
piso si el usuario no pone la mano debajo
de la bandeja.
1. Sostenga la linterna con una mano y ponga
la otra debajo de la base.
2. Empuje la bandeja de pilas dentro
de la linterna y, al mismo tiempo, presione el
botoncito negro que se encuentra en
el centro del
orificio del
sujetador,
detrás de la
lente. Suelte
la bandeja.
3. Hale la bandeja para sacarla de la linterna y reemplace
las pilas en el orden que indican las calcomanías.
4. Para volverla a colocar, empuje la bandeja dentro de
la linterna, con las pilas hacia el costado de la lente,
hasta que se oiga un “clic”.
O-RING MAINTENANCE
Check closely for cuts, scratches, or otherwise damaged
O-ring or mating lens lip surface. Remove any dirt or foreign
matter from O-ring sealing surfaces. Keep threads, O-ring
groove and inside lip of lens lubricated with silicone grease.

Hydrogen Gas Absorber Pellets
Located inside the flashlight are catalyst pellets which are
present to absorb hydrogen gas that could possibly be
emitted by defective, leaking, reversed polarity or heavily
discharged batteries. If the pellets become wet, let them air
dry. Pelican Products assumes no liability for any brand
batteries which are defective or cause injury to
anyone when used in any Pelican flashlight.
Note: The emergency back-up lamp is designed to pro-
vide longer battery life at the expense of light output (cat.
#3704 LOW),
For maximum light output and lamp life use the
primary lamp (cat. #3704 HI).
WARRANTY RETURN POLICY
Send all items for repair or replacement directly to Pelican
Products Customer Service Department (Postage Paid).
Please call for authorization number. Per our guarantee,
Pelican Products will replace or repair any broken or defec-
tive products. Upon receipt of goods, Pelican Products will
notify you of any handling and return postage charges.

of the PELICAN LIGHT, PELICAN PRODUCTS will gladly replace the
light or refund your money (at your option) within thirty days after the
purchase through the original Dealer/Retailer. PELICAN PRODUCTS
will continue to guarantee the light directly, for a lifetime, against
breakage or defects in workmanship. Lifetime guarantee does not
cover the lamp or batteries. The o-rings must be kept greased (and
replaced if damaged) per product instructions. (Replace o-rings annu-
ally or when damaged.) Any liability, either expressed or implied is
limited to replacement of the light. This guarantee is void only if the
PELICAN LIGHT has been abused beyond normal and sensible wear
and tear.
The above guarantee does not cover
sharkbite, bear attack, or children under 5.
