Operating the Lift
Checkallpartsforshippingdamagebeforeusing.Incaseofdamage,DONOTusethe
equipment.Contactthedealerorcustomerserviceforfurtherinstructions.
DONOTattemptanytransferwithoutapprovaloftheresident’sphysician,nurseor
medicalassistant.Thoroughlyreadtheinstructionsinthisowner’smanual,observea
trainedteamofexpertsperformtheliftingproceduresandthenperformtheentirelift
procedureseveraltimeswithpropersupervisionandacapableindividualactingasa
resident.
Usecommonsenseinalllifts.SpecialcareMUSTbetakenwithpeoplewithdisabilities
whocannotfullycooperatewhilebeingtransferred.
AlthoughInvacarerecommendsthattwoassistantsbeusedforalllift ingandtransferring
procedures,ourequipmentwillpermitproperoperationbyoneassistant.Theuseofone
assistantisbasedontheevaluationofthehealthcar eprofessionalforeachindividualcase.
Makesurethereisanaudibleclickwhenmountingbatteryonthebatterychargerto
confirmpropermounting.Otherwise,injuryordamagemayoccur.
DONOTexceedmaximumweightlimitationofthelift.Theweightlimitationforthe1900
and1900Sbathliftis350lbs.
ALWAYSkeephandsandfingersclearofmovingpartstoavoidinjury.
Lifting/Transferring
Invacarerecommendstheuseofthesafetystrapandshoulderharnesswhenusingthe
bathlift.ALWAYSadjustthesafetystrapandshoulderharnessforsafetyandcomfort
beforetransport.
Duringtransfer,raisetheseatso theresident’sfeetaresuspendedfromthefloor.DONOT
rollcasterbaseoverobjectssuchascarpet,raisedcarpetbindings,doorframes,orany
unevensurfacesorobstaclesthatwouldcreateanimbalanceoftheliftandcouldcause
thelifttotipover.
WheelchairwheellocksMUSTbeinalockedpositionbeforetransferringtheresidentinto
thewheelchairfortransport.
