Product Description
The Ei420 is a RadioLINK alarm interface module that is
designed to be hard-wired to an Ei260 Series CO alarm to
allow it to be integrated into a RadioLINK system. It also
has the ability to be used as a standalone RadioLINK
repeater module. It is designed to be remotely sited and
comes complete with its own cover.
It runs on 230V AC mains power and has built in tamper-
proof rechargeable Lithium cells that act as a battery back-
up in the event of mains failure. These rechargeable
Lithium cells are designed to have a minimum ten-year life
and outlast the life of the module itself.
The Ei420 can be used to interface a hard-wired Ei260
Series CO alarm with a RadioLINK system. The Ei420 has
inputs for interconnect wiring and will send out a
RadioLINK signal if it receives a hard-wired signal input.
Additionally, if the Ei420 receives a RadioLINK signal it will
output a hard-wired signal on the interconnect line. This
function is designed for use with !RC" Series alarms.
The Ei420 can also be used as a stand-alone RadioLINK
repeater module in installations that require additional
signal coverage but where the installation of an additional
alarm may not be suitable.
The Ei420 uses advanced transceiver and signal coding
technology to ensure robust and reliable RF signaling.
Operation
On receiving a hard-wired signal, the unit will transmit an
equivalent RadioLINK signal.
On receiving a RadioLINK signal, the unit will send out an
equivalent hard-wired signal on the interconnect line.
Received RadioLINK signals will be re-transmitted -
increasing the possible number of barriers penetrated by
the signal and contributing to multiple signal paths
throughout the system.
The unit can be House-Coded by activating the House-
Code switch. The indicator will flash red to indicate the
number of units !learned".
The indicator will illuminate green to show that mains
power is present (this is overridden by any red flashes).
If the rechargeable back-up is depleted, the indicator will
flash red every 10 seconds.
