excess water in salt tank

While having my pressure pump serviced, they shut off the outflow valve from the softener. A few days later I noticed my water was hard, and I discovered the problem. After opening that valve, I soon noticed very salty water in the house. I then checked the salt holding tank, and it has 2 ft of water. I cleaned the venturi & nozzle, ran a cycle last night, and still have a lot of water in the tank. Help?
