Shop Vac Wet/Dry Vacuum Cleaner 215728

I'm trying to vaccum our basement floor, which is pretty dirty. I'm using the disposable filter bag #50900-01 and the cartridge filter 903-04. Is it ok to use these 2 together or do I use one or the other? I really don't have a good instruction manual for this unit and am thinking about returning it. Please help!
