Here www.arpis.com/residential/docs/1F80.pdf (link) is the manual for the White-Rodgers 1F80-261 thermostat with programming instructions. To replace the batteries, pry carefully at the crack (upper right corner) between the base and the front cover with a table knife and the front cover will pop off exposing the battery chamber.
