Its a plain small heat pump with no electical coil booster/backup. It will heat your small room to about 70 when its about 40 outside and as it gets colder the room will also. Its great for moderate climates and my sunroom. Get a Delonghi TRD0715T Safe Heat Oil-Filled Radiator to use when needed (do a search on Amazon) it took care of any shortcomings on heat, no problems on AC at all.
