Remote opens but no close

My remote will open the door but will not close it. Sometimes door only opens partially also and sometimes all the way. To close, I have to use button on the wall in the garage and have to hold it down until all the way shut. Used to close by just tapping once. I have a feeling it is something to do with the safety radar boxes on floor by door so no one gets caught under door. Any way to overide the safety feature or get new radar boxes.

    I cannot answer your question, but I am having the exact problem with my new Genie opener. I question the circuit board in the opener itself. Anyone have a solution?

    i just read a forum on bobvila.com that said the remote may be causing it. the 2 copper strips that touch each other to operate the remote are touching too easily and will even block the wall button from working. I hope this helps :)
