garage door doesn't raise more than 2 inches and stops

Sears 1/2hp garage door opener. Upon activating garage door from car remotes or garage wire remote, door raises 3 inches and stops. Push button again and it doesn't do anything. Unplug power from motor. Push button and the door lowers to complete closed position. It there a reset button that could reset unit so it completes the entire cycle and door fully opens.
